Green Vattavada

Green

Tourism brings people, but it also brings waste. In Vattavada, we are fighting hard to ensure that our beautiful village doesn't turn into a garbage dump. Here is what we are doing about it.

The Problem

Vattavada is located inside a protected forest reserve. Plastic waste here doesn't just look ugly; it endangers the wildlife (elephants and gaurs often eat plastic) and pollutes the soil where we grow our vegetables.

Our Initiatives

  • No Plastic Bottles: We do not sell plastic water bottles at our campsite. We provide filtered water in glass bottles or reusable jugs.
  • Waste Segregation: All waste generated at Gypsys Paradiso is segregated. Organic waste is composted, and recyclables are sent to Munnar.
  • Cleanup Drives: Once a month, our team and volunteers conduct a cleanup drive along the trekking trails to pick up litter left by tourists.

How You Can Help

We ask our guests to follow a simple rule: "Bring it in, take it out." If you bring chips packets or plastic wrappers, please carry them back with you to the city where they can be disposed of properly.

The Pledge

When you book a stay with us, you are not just a tourist; you are a guardian of this land. Help us keep Vattavada green for the next generation.

Nature doesn't need us. We need nature.
