← Back to all stories

For travelers coming from Tamil Nadu, the drive from Madurai to Vattavada is a visual treat. Unlike the Kochi route, this one offers dramatic views of the Tamil Nadu plains as you climb up the Western Ghats.

The Route

Madurai → Usilampatti → Theni → Bodinayakanur → Bodimettu → Poopara → Vattavada

Distance: Approx. 140 km | Time: 4-5 hours

Why Choose This Route?

It's shorter and less crowded than the Munnar town route. You bypass the heavy traffic of Munnar and enter Vattavada directly from the eastern side.
