Vattavada is the main hub, but the satellites are even quieter.
1. Yellapetty: The Cloud Village
Located before Top Station, Yellapetty is famous for its Sunrise Trek. You camp above the clouds and watch the sun rise over the Kolukkumalai peaks. The village itself is a tiny cluster of line-houses for tea plantation workers. It feels frozen in time 100 years ago.
2. Pazhathottam: The Fruit Garden
Literally translating to 'Fruit Garden', this hamlet sits above Vattavada. It offers the best 360-degree view of the terrace farms. It is home to old Eucalyptus groves and terrace farms that grow the finest plums and pears.
Travel Tip: These villages have zero hotels. You visit them for the views, the treks, and the silence, then return to Vattavada to sleep.
